Hebden Bridge Junior Band

ABOUT THE BAND

Hebden Bridge Junior Band was established in 1971 by Brian Haydn Robinson who retired from the role of Musical Director after more than 30 years in 2003.  The band provides musical education and opportunities to perform for local young people aged between 7 and 19 years of age.

As well as performing annually at local events the band is much in demand across Yorkshire and further afield for outdoor summer concerts and Carol recitals. Every other year, the band raises money for an overseas tour, taking over 30 young people to play in towns and cities in Europe.  The band is entirely run by a volunteer committee and is primarily funded through public donations and engagement fees.

We provide more than 20 lessons a week and run a B Band for improvers, alongside the main Junior Band.

Our current Musical Director is Neil Robinson

Hebden Bridge Junior Band is for 7 to 19 year olds in the Upper Calder Valley who want to develop their music skills as part of a brass band
